What mid-Century modern boutique can hold a candle to Morba’s colourful riot of home furnishings and accessories? Where Quasi Modo and DWR pursue a showroom aesthetic that reflects their sleek, contemporary wares, Morba is a circus, literally jammed to the rafters with inventory that runs from new to vintage and from quality licensed products to reproduction knockoffs.

As wild as the store is, it’s downright orderly compared to years past. The formerly impenetrable back room has been carved into aisles that permit relatively easy access to much of the merchandise. And as usual, the merchandise impresses.

Morba carries a full range of Le Klint lighting from Denmark (left) with prices ranging from $250 - $500. The reproduction Fritz Hansen PK22 leather lounge chair (below left) is priced to move at $495; same goes for the repro Bertoia Diamond Lounger (below right, $145).

Probably my favorite discovery last weekend was the kid-sized Barcelona chair (left, $589) that Mike and I dubbed the Mini Mies.

Whether you’re hunting for something specific or just looking to kill a few minutes on Queen West, Morba is always worth a look-see.
