Aristocrat Lamps and Lighting remains one of my favorite Toronto bargain outlets but the banker’s hours have always been a problem. Right now, however, the store is open seven days a week to accommodate a serious sale. The best deals are still found in the dead-stock room, below, where brass lamps are among the very best values, but you’ll find solid savings on newer stock and shades, too. The retail environment may be a little low-rent but if you’re looking for lighting on-the-cheap, Aristocrat should definitely be on your shopping list.

Lighting is always a hard item to find. Great to have another resource.

Love the store, but contrary to Kristengrace’s above reply, the service I received was shockingly bad on the one occasion I did use them. I won’t elaborate (but it was out of a Seinfeld episode, that’s how bad it was)
I will compliment them on how nicely, and well priced my custom shade turned out.

Lindsay, I know exactly what you’re talking about: the Hollander clan (Aristocrat is very much a family business) can be irasible at the best of times. It wasn’t until I’d purchased my fourth or fifth shade from them that they started to warm up to me. Personally, I get a charge out of people like that and I’m happy to roll with their punches, but I can see how it could be off-putting. Caveat emptor.
