Alison MacAlpine graduated from McGill University with an Honours BA in English Literature. Working for three book publishers in Montreal and Toronto gave her essential copy editing and proofreading skills, which she reinforced with courses and seminars offered by Ryerson University, the Editors’ Association of Canada and the Banff Publishing Workshop.

Her years in Trimark Investments’ marketing department provided rigorous project management training when she took responsibility for the quarterly Trimark Investor and monthly Trimark Exchange newsletters, distributed to more than a million investors and about 45,000 financial advisors, respectively. At Trimark, Alison embraced the opportunity to take on increasingly challenging writing assignments. She was ultimately promoted to Editorial Director, and the style guide she prepared for the company won an Ovation Award of Merit from the International Association of Business Communicators.

Alison established AM Communications in 1999. Her clients agree that she has the right balance of technical skills and creative talent to handle a wide variety of projects. In 2005, Alison won a Gold KRW Award from the Canadian Business Press for her Advisor's Edge article "Hidden Millionaires."

"Alison brings creativity, superior writing and editing skills and discipline to each and every project that she has worked on for Piper Group Inc. Whether it is a web site for a not-for-profit or a corporate brochure for a technology company, Alison has the patience and talent to craft the right message for the right audience in the right voice – all while being a pleasure to work with. We always welcome the opportunity to add her to our team."
